Dear Friends of Bridge Lake

This is just a short notice to advise you of a change of schedule in our Summer Speaker Series.

Summer Speakers Series

The last two weeks saw presentations of Mike Ramsay (Fisheries, MoE Williams Lake) on the interesting subject of “Fish stocking of local lakes” and BC Parks Ranger Heather Gorrell (right) on “Local Parks and usages”. The turnout on both evenings was quite good with 22 and 14 attendants respectively.

The next evening will be on August 12, where Chris Lohr (Stewardship Officer, Ministry of Forestry and Range) will talk to us about “Pine Beetle, Spruce Budworm, Douglas Fir Beetle and other pests”. This should be of great interest to everybody in the community!

Finally Michelle Schilling, (Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, Area Manager Bridge Lake - Clinton) will give her presentation about “Bridge Lake public accesses” on August 19 (originally scheduled for August 5).

As usual, all presentations will start at 7pm at the Bridge Lake School and will last for about an hour.

Fire Bans

The Cariboo Fire Centre has advised that the start date for the complete fire ban in the Cariboo has been changed to Thursday, July 29th to bring our region into line with the rest of the Province.

I hope all of you are enjoying the nice summer weather! It's supposed to stay with us through the rest of the week, exactly the right weather for a great Interlakes Rodeo weekend.

Cheers,

Jim Dunbar, President
